St. Louis Zoo

While is St. Louis for my best friend's wedding (pictures to come) we went to the zoo. David took the day off and it was a beautiful day for outdoors. They aren't great pictures, but it gives an idea of the fun we had. Actually you can't see at all how much Wes in particular loved it. He was non-stop chatter about everything he saw and his enthusiasm for it.

Johnson's Visit

I'm not very good at taking lots of pictures when we have family in town. I would rather be visiting than taking pictures. To make up for it I made sure I had a shot of all of the kids sitting together. Aren't they cute? We had a blast with Myra and her kids the first week of April. I don't get to see them often and when I do it's a real treat.

As an added bonus my Dad came down from Green Bay to see his grandchildren and come to Courtney's Wedding with me. Dad I am so grateful you came and I really enjoy your company.

This is how Cate gives me kisses.

Myra made me an Oreo Birthday cake. It was delicious and a lot of fun to celebrate with so much family.

pictures for pictures sake

Cate is getting a lot of camera attention. Not only is she so darn cute and expressive, but she is growing so fast! I can barely keep up with her.

Walking!

She's been walking for almost a month now, but I'm just now putting up a video. The second video was taken a couple weeks after the first, to show her improvement.

Catherine's First Birthday

I can't express how much we adore this baby girl. I was a little sad to have my daughter who was never supposed to grow up turn 1. Luckily it was a fun event, and as she grows older her personality is coming through and I'm grateful to have a front row seat.
Cate enjoys being the center of attention. So much so that today at story time she left my arms three times to plop herself up on the stage by the librarian, sitting down and waving as if she were the reason everyone were there.
I have had four different strangers at different times call her "fiery". She will not back down, and she will not allow anyone to help her do most anything she thinks she can do on her own. She is also smitten with her daddy, adores her big brother, and is a rather predicable and therefore easy little girl. How lucky we are to have her in our family!

I call this one "why is it her birthday?" Granted Wes did get a present for himself and was happy to open all Cate's presents for her since she was not interested.

It did not take her long to go from enjoying the cake to enjoying the attention. In the end she sacrificed her cake for some laughs (she literally threw it in the air towards the end).

Melissa came to visit in February and not only were to lucky to have her company, but she took some great pictures for us as well.
